BRIEF OVERVIEW
The course explores how God involved himself in the life and politics of ancient Israel. It surveys the history of Israel from the rise of the monarchy to the return from exile and the prophets during this period – 1 Samuel to Esther and Isaiah to Malachi. The themes of the Day of YHWH, judgment and restoration, promise and fulfilment, Messiah, kingdom, and the new people of God will deepen our understanding of prophetical movement, and the content and theology of the books of Isaiah through Malachi and how their message informs and culminates in the person and work of Jesus Christ and the revelation of the New Testament.
